The call conveyed clear commercial momentum: meaningful revenue growth, rapid expansion of global robotaxi and L4 fleets, growing ADAS mass-production adoption, a major technical milestone with the GENESIS simulation platform, strong partnership pipeline, and a healthy cash position bolstered by a sizable share repurchase. Against these positives, the company remains unprofitable with sizable operating and R&D spend, faces short-term regulatory headwinds in China and utilization softness in parts of the Middle East, and incurs upfront costs when entering new markets. On balance, the operational progress, technology leadership and financial resources appear to outweigh near-term challenges.
WeRide reiterated a clear near‑term and long‑term rollout plan: on track to deploy 2,000 robotaxi worldwide by end‑2026, to deploy at least 1,200 robotaxi across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh by 2027, and to scale toward tens (and management has also referenced hundreds) of thousands of robotaxi by 2030; it expects international revenue (≈1/3 of group revenue last year) to grow faster and contribute a larger share in 2026, highlighted a joint Lenovo target to deploy 200,000 autonomous vehicles over the next five years and a Geely Farizon plan to deliver 2,000 GXR robotaxi in 2026, noted its Middle East subsidiary is already net‑profitable, said it remains on track to hit its full‑year revenue target, and pointed to a strong balance sheet (RMB 6.22 billion total capital reserve, RMB 6.18 billion cash/time deposits, RMB 294 million short‑term loans) while executing a USD 100 million buyback (≈24.4 million shares repurchased for ~USD 61.4 million so far).
Total revenue of RMB 114 million in Q1 2026 with management citing year-over-year growth (CEO stated +58% YoY; CFO presented +38% YoY), reflecting accelerating commercial traction across robotaxi and ADAS businesses.
Product revenue increased 116% to RMB 20 million and service revenue increased 49% to RMB 94 million, demonstrating growth in deployments of robotaxi and L4 vehicles and expanding recurring service income.
Group gross profit rose 56% to RMB 40 million in Q1 2026 with an approximate group gross margin of 35%, indicating top-line expansion with maintained margin discipline.
Global robotaxi fleet reached ~1,300 vehicles by end-April (domestic ~1,000; overseas ~300). Level 4 fleet (robovan + robobus) ~2,800 units deployed or tested across 12 countries and 40+ cities, supporting claims of one of the largest global robotaxi deployments.
Domestic average daily orders per vehicle reached 17 trips in Q1 (peak 28 trips) and registered robotaxi users roughly doubled YoY, indicating improving unit economics and consumer adoption.
Introduced GENESIS world-model simulation engine that management says boosts model evolution pace 'by several folds', enables large-scale synthetic corner-case training (claimed thousands of times more efficient than road testing), and supported 4 consecutive championships in China urban intelligent driving competition.
WRD 3.0 ADAS adopted by nearly 30 vehicle models; first mass-production deployment (GAC Aion N60) entered presales. WRD 3.0 supports NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon and SiEngine StarLight, enabling broader OEM adoption and mass-production flexibility.
Partnerships include Lenovo (joint target to deploy 200,000 autonomous vehicles over 5 years) and Geely Farizon (2,000 purpose-built robotaxi GXR deliveries in 2026). Collaboration with Uber (strategic shareholder >5%) and Grab supports international rollouts; committed to deploy at least 1,200 robotaxi across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh by 2027.
Total capital reserves RMB 6.22 billion (RMB 6.18 billion cash & equivalents). Maintained RMB 294 million short-term bank loans. Under a USD 100 million repurchase program, repurchased ~24.4 million Class A shares for ~USD 61.4 million, signaling board confidence in long-term value.
Launched Singapore's first public autonomous driving service with Grab; launched fully driverless commercial robotaxi in Dubai with Uber and RTA; Abu Dhabi coverage expanded to ~70% of core area; entered Slovakia and progressing toward Zurich driverless operations.
